Mediacom

  Mediacom is a cable television multiple system operator (MSO), the 8th largest in the U.S. Headquartered in Middletown, New York, the company focuses on smaller markets that  larger MSOs avoid. Subscribers in 23 states. In addition to providing basic cable television channels, Mediacom also provides digital television, video demand,high definition television, broadband Internet access and telephone services. Mediacom completed a series of acquisitions in 1999 similar to those made in 1998, with a small purchase followed by a large strategic transaction. Intial was the  addition of $ 19.5 million from Zylstra Communications and its 14,000 cable subscribers in Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota.  For more details:  Mediacom(Mso)
